Using "msdeploy publish" (VS2010)?

Discussion in 'Suggestions' started by jahyen, Jan 15, 2010.

  1. Anyone been able to use the "MSDeploy publish" option in Visual Studio 2010 (beta 2) to deploy a site?

If it's not available, is this in the pipeline to be enabled?

    thanks.

Unfortunately, we do not currently support MSDeploy.

We will most likely offer this feature when VS 2010 releases.

  3. hey, is this enabled yet? I just switched to using the released version of 2010 and all of a sudden my site doesn't work. It works fine on my local machine, but I've been deploying it locally and then ftp-ing the files to Winhost. I'm getting object reference errors when no code has changed. The .NET version has not changed... Could this be a deployment issue?

we don't support msdeploy right now. we are still evaluating this and seeing what the demand is.

  5. Could be. We only support these methods for Visual Studio 2010 at the moment.

  6. I'll add one voice to the demand for msdeploy support.

  7. We likely will support it, it's more a matter of "when" than "if." And there's no firm answer to the "when" question yet.
