ssvaidya has a request or two...

Discussion in 'Suggestions' started by ssvaidya, Jun 14, 2011.

  1. I would like to suggest the addition of support for SQL Server Reporting Services either available built into one of the existing web hosting plans or available as an add-on to any of the web hosting plans.

SQL Server Reporting Services would offer significantly better reporting support than simply using the built-in Microsoft reporting runtime that is shipped with Visual Studio.

  2. myLittleAdmin support for SQL Server

I would like to request myLittleAdmin support for web-based querying support for SQL Server similar to what is offered by DiscountASP.Net.

In several instances, I am unable to access my SQL Server via SQL Management Studio due to firewall rules on various networks, therefore, it would be extremely useful to have a completely web-based interface such as is provided by myLittleAdmin to query and perform various other operations against the target SQL Servers.

  3. Additional ASP.Net Components

It would be nice if Winhost offered usage of additional 3rd party components in ASP.Net applications similar to what is offered by DiscountASP.Net:

I would be particularly interested in being able to utilize the IP*Works components for E-commerce such as the E-Pay Integrator and PayPal Integrator.

  4. WebSitePanel

It would be nice if the Control Panel offered by Winhost was enhanced at least with functionality similar to WebSitePanel:

WebSitePanel is free and is already used by several Web Hosting providers to provide a Web-based interface for managing functionality such as IIS, SQL Server etc.

  5. You seem to find us lacking in many areas, so why are you here? There are many crappy hosts that will offer you WebSitePanel, and if you like so many things about DiscountASP.NET, I'm sure they'll be happy to take your money.

I don't get the point of you carpet bombing us with posts, each one about a different feature available elsewhere.

And what's up with one of your posts coming from Hewlett-Packard Company in Mountain View California, then minutes later, another post from a General Motors Corporation server in Royal Oak Michigan? A suspicious person might think you are up to something fishy. Not me, but, you know, a suspicious person.
