SQL Server does not exist or access denied

  1. We are getting the message below intermittently when someone tries to access our website(s) and database(s). The sites (we have two that have similar coding) that go up and down at the same time between 1 and 15 minutes two or three time in the morning. The two sites have been hosted by Winhost for over 5 years with no prior problems. We have not made any significant changes in our coding.

Winhost says there is something wrong with our coding and that: A connection termination due to a database query is something that has to be remedied in your application(s). They deny that it is server side. They say: The problem you're running in to is likely caused by a database query that
is killing the connection (sp_reset _connection from ADO) prematurely.

Our two sites have separate databases and different traffic at different times but go up and down at the same time. I am trying to help my programmer solve the problem

Had anybody else experience this problem? Any suggestion of how to troubleshoot?
