MS Sql 2008

Discussion in 'Databases' started by JackWebb, Jul 14, 2010.

  1. I'm sure this is a dumb question, but here goes anyway.

I added a second MS Sql 2008 Datagase to my ASPMAX site using CP, Manage, Clicking MS SQL 2008, adding second DB named DB_xxxx_elmah, set quota to 50, all is good.

So now I have DB_xxxx_primaryDb, and DB_xxxx_elmah both showing up in CP.

Here's the rub. When I go into MSSMS and visit my site, only DB_xxxx_primaryDb shows up under Databases.

Did I forget to do something?
Or misunderstood that my Max Plan gets up to 5 MS Sql Databases?
Or jumping the gun because of timing?

Sorry to bother you, and thanks for looking,

If you want to see your database DB_xxxx_elmah you will need to log in with that user name, then you will see the database DB_xxxx_elmah

  3. I logged into MSSMS using the attached. In the second attachment, I still only see the primary Database.

  4. Sorry Ray.

That's why i started out by saying it was a dumb question!

Now I understand what you said.

To see the new database, I have to login to MSSMS with a specific user given to that database, i.e., DB_xxxx_elmah_user

I was ona mind track that thought there was one user that could see all the databases of a site.

    Again, sorry.
