how to import/restore mysql db

I am in the process of moving my site from another host. I have a *.sql file backup of the db that I need to restore. I created a db using the control panel, and then I've tried using the mysql workbench to restore, but it doesn't seem to give me the option to choose which db to restore to, and it errors.

So what is the best way to restore my db from the old host into Winhost?

You may want to take a look at phpMyAdmin to restore your database to our environment.
