Is it possible to purchase a domain from a third-party and then get it moved over to you so that the price per year is charged by you? That way we'd be assured of low yearly renewal rates.
Thanks Curtis! That's exactly what I was hoping. This means that we can purchase a domain elsewhere but then change the registrar to be Winhost, we'd need to pay the $10 yearly fee to Winhost when we do this but that is fair. It might be wise before buying a domain that we check to make sure that 'Obtaining the transfer authorization - or EPP - key' is not somehow obstructed in the legal purchasing contract otherwise we'd be stuck paying a high yearly rate.
There is usually a 60 day wait period before you can transfer any newly registered domain name from any registrar. Why not just purchase the domain name through us? We offer that option too.
