corrupted local web config

Discussion in 'Site Programming, Development and Design' started by winhoau, Sep 14, 2012.

  1. Hello,

I attempted overiding some authorisation lock and my web config would not allow my default website to work anymore. I need to change it. What is the safe way to do this?

    Thanks in advance.

Rename your current web.config file to something like web.config.old, and then upload your new web.config file using FTP?

  3. re-corrupted local web.config

    Hello Elshadriel,
Thanks for the suggestion. But I think you didn't get my problem. The problem is with the web.config in my local root folder[www.root]. It has been corrupted and default application settings are now out of order. I need to get a new web config with the original default settings of my local root folder.

I would appreciate if you would come back to me with a suggestion on this.

Unless you have a backup, I don't really have any suggestions. You might want to try to install IIS on another computer, and then copy those settings over.
