Try restarting your computer to clear any current FTP connections. I just created the MyData directory using FileZilla without any problems.
Do you have any local firewall / antivirus turned-on? If so, please temporarily turn it off also how do you get connected to internet? Direct connection (wireless/cable) or via network hub?
I only run the Windows 7 firewall and Microsoft Security Essentials. They are both disabled. My PC is connected by ethernet to my modem/router. I put my PC into the DMZ and still have the error. I also tried tethering my PC to my mobile phone and get the same 550 error. Then I installed an FTP client on my phone and still get the same error. Including the Net2FTP website, that is 3 independent connections that all return the same error.
Ok, I've figured out the issue. When I login, the default directory is a subdirectory named after my username. I have write permissions there. If I navigate to the parent directory I can only see the aspnet_client directory and I do not have write permissions there.
If you're having problems accessing a specific folder, let support know as we'd have to reset the permissions on that specific folder for you.
