500 - Internal server error.

  1. I am getting this error recently. Specifically - "There is a problem with the resource you are looking for, and it cannot be displayed."

I run two copies of my site, greek-solutions.com and greek-solutions.com/dev which is the development section for testing.

They run on separate application pools and have not had any issues.

A few weeks ago the dev section started failing. The code on both should be exactly the same - not sure what my issue is.

Does anyone know if any ways to troubleshoot this error?

http://www.greek-solutions.com/dev/ is the specific page - but any of the pages in the directory get the error - even images.

  2. I deleted my WebConfig file and the error is no longer happening.

I have no clue how my system is finding the config info now though - all my connection strings were in the file for example.

  3. This is fixed now. The site was pulling from the main site's web.config.
