I am having trouble connecting to my site with IIS Manager. I have a new computer with Windows 8.1, and installed the IIS Manager windows component. When I open IIS Manager, it shows Connections. When I click on the File menu option, the only choices are Exit and Save Connection, which is greyed out. There is no Create New Connection option. Does this imply that I should have installed something else? Any help is appreciated DavidLJ
Hi David, Can you provide us with a screen shot of what you're seeing? I don't have access to a Windows 8.1 desktop right now, but if I remember correctly, the interfaces were the same.
Check this blog post article out: http://anandthearchitect.com/2013/08/21/windows-server-2012windows-8-manage-remote-iis-server/ It shows you how to install it on IIS Manager. Hope that helps and remember you need to use the option "Connect to Site...".
Here's a possible IIS Manager problem. Maybe you can help: I followed all the steps on this page and I still get a "unable to connect to the remote server" error: https://support.Winhost.com/kb/a628/using-the-microsoft-iis-manager.aspx I also noticed that I can't connect via FTP via Filezilla, but I can using Windows File Explorer. I'm not sure if it's related or not. Has anybody experienced this? Thanks
