Sub Domains

  1. I set up a sub domain like I had at my previous provider because I want to make it secure. But when I go to publish to it, it won't allow me to.

I set it up on my site and I am using vs2008 to get my website published. It published to my primary domain just fine. But now the sub domain has the same pages as the primary domain.

  2. The sub domains are by default directed to the root of the site, to allow the subdomain to have different pages, you have to create a new directory for it and setup a redirect script either using asp or IIS Rewrite Module to redirect the subdomain to it's specified directory.

Just one thing worth nothing. If you are going to have multiple applications, don't forget to setup those subfolders as application folders. This will allow IIS to see them as their own application starting point.
