I uploaded my website in my root folder. I changed the default document to index.htm You can try to access my site http://royal-sigma.com and will load perfectly but when you try to access it via http://www.royal-sigma.com it will show the Winhost default page. When you go through these urls, http://www.royal-sigma.com/index.htm or http://www.royal-sigma.com/index.aspx it seems to work perfectly also. Why is it that when I'm trying to access it through http://www.royal-sigma.com , why am I not being redirected to my default page and instead the Winhost default page is being displayed? I have no Winhost default page in my directory. Please help me asap. Thanks.
No. Many users experience this. when they go to http://www.royal-sigma.com the Winhostdefault page is being displayed. I have no Winhostdefault page in my directory. These urls are working: http://royal-sigma.com http://royal-sigma.com/index.aspx http://royal-sigma.com/index.htm http://www.royal-sigma.com/index.aspx http://www.royal-sigma.com/index.htm This is the url that is not working: http://www.royal-sigma.com Also, I have duplicated the problem in many workstations in primary browsers, IE, Firefox, Chrome, Safari. I even tried cleaning up cache and clear all what is possible to be cleared. I also ran /flushdns but with no effect. My default page in IIS are in these order of priority: index.htm index.aspx
I didn't notice a problem before, but now your index.htm file is causing the page to keep refreshing indefinitely. The aspx page is working fine. You might want to move the index.aspx page to the top of the Default Documents list as that appears to be the main page of your website.
I already did that too. That was my initial setting before adding up the index.htm. The point is why is it the http://www.royal-sigma.com url never works for all users? And that, what is that page being displayed in the stated url? I don't have any Winhostdefaultpage in my directory. I've experience this in every workstation. I've already tried to order default page as index.htm followed by index.aspx and otherwise.
You mean http://www.royal-sigma.com works for you? I am not behind a proxy server. Attached is what it looks like for every workstation I've tried. Same results. I've also tried to test it using computers in a different network, and outside my network. Same results. Why is it http://royal-sigma.com works fine but http://www.royal-sigma.com does not? It seems to be that http://www.royal-sigma.com does not detect the start up page which was set in IIS and points to a different page which does not exists in my directory, which http://royal-sigma.com detects like a charm
