Over the past 24 hours, the news media has been talking a lot about the bug revealed recently in current releases of the OpenSSL architecture. Is Winhost affected by any of this?
No, we are not. IIS does not use the Open SSL library. OpenSSL is typically run on open source servers that run Apache, FreeBSD, Linux, etc. Netcraft estimates two-thirds of the sites on the web are affected, which is certainly an incredible number of sites. But no worries here. Edit: I've learned from the system administrators that php includes the OpenSSL library, so we are updating all of the servers to a secure version.
