HTTPS causing Error 101

Discussion in 'General troubleshooting' started by msaylor, Jan 28, 2013.

  1. I bought a certificate through Winhost today and it worked fine after setting it up and testing https version of the site. Now when I go to https://www.722redemption.com it gives me an Error 101. I asked others on a different network to try and they cannot access it either. If you go to just 722redemption.com it loads fine, but www.722redemption.com causes it to go to HTTPS and not load.

Any suggestions on how to get this working again? I searched the forums, but the only post that had the same problem said the issue fixed itself.

Once SSL was installed, you were provisioned a Unique IP. Since your DNS is hosted at Network Solutions, you need to update the A records so that your site will resolve correctly. It is currently pointing to the Shared IP, not your new Unique one.

  3. Where do I find this unique IP. The control panel shows the same IP address which I already have an A record for.

I'm looking at the Control Panel right now. It's different from the old one you had before. Try refreshing your browser? And try looking at the Site Info section.

  5. Thank you I see it now. I changed the A record that was pointing to our old IP to the new IP address. Now to wait to make sure it updates.
