When I look at http://Winhost.com/ under the 'basic' plan, it says 'Host Unlimited Domains' - I thought that meant I'd be able to have two (or more) different domain names like www.MySite1.com www.MySite2.com And that each domain would bring a visitor to a different site. When I click to create a new site in the Winhost it has information about the billing cycles and additional fees....so I stopped. Because I thought my plan already included that. But, I thought about it and figured, maybe I was doing the wrong thing, maybe I should be trying to add a new domain name? When I click on 'domains' I can see my 'domain list' but it only shows one. If I click 'Add Domain' it only seems to let me purchase a new domain name (but I really don't want to buy a new domain name, I want to use my second domain name I already own to deliver different content from my first). Does all that make sense? Can I add 'MySite2.com' and have it open a different page than the site I already have setup, without paying additional fees? If so, how do I do that?
I think there maybe a confusion between the term Domain Names and Web Sites. Actually the two are completely separate but work hand in hand to give a viewer a good browsing experience. In general having a domain name does not equal to a site. What we have is our Domain Pointer feature which will allow you to add as many domain names to your account for free. Typically it is used as a marketing strategy to cover multiple domain names to resolve to one site. Such as mysite1.com, mysite1.net, and mysite.biz. Some people use the Domain Pointer to host multiple sites under one site account. You are free to do this. Please refer to this link for more information about our domain pointer feature. http://support.Winhost.com/KB/a696/details-on-domain-pointer-service.aspx To host multiple sites under one site account and have them associated with different domain names, simply create a subfolder under the root and upload the respective sites to those subfolders. Than create a redirect script or redirect rule to force specific http calls with the proper domain name to go into those subfolders and publish the desired web page.
