Any suggestions for why I cannot connect outlook.

  1. Folks,

    I can use the email from the Smartermail application. And I have enabled POP and IMAP access.

    But when I try to use Outlook 2010 to manage the emails, it complains of not being able to connect to the mail server. It tries with encrypted and unencrypted options but it fails.

    There are no other messages that can give me a clue.

    I can use outlook to connect to my other email accounts.

    For help from Winhost my account ID is 0020952

    First of all, make sure that DNS of your domain are properly pointing to our servers and that your MX record in particular is pointing to the mail server provided for your hosting account. Next, verify that you configured email account correctly in Outlook. Please refer to this article for the instructions. Finally, make sure the default pop3 and imap ports 110 and 143 are not blocked on your end.
