Alternative to IIS 7?

Hi,

I have just backed up my database and would like to save it to my local machine. Aditionally I would like to delete the backup file on the server so I can do another backup at a later date.

I assume you do this using iis7. However, I cannot get iis7 to install. I double click the install msi file and it just does nothing. After a while the computer becomes unresponsive and I have to do an emergency shutdown using the power button.

Is there an alternative (free if possible) to iis7?

Actually you will need to do it through FTP. Connect to our server via FTP, download your database backup to your computer then delete it.

In that case where do I find these FTP programs on my machine or do they need to be downloaded?

 

You will need to download them from the software client's website.

Feel free to choose any client you want, we tend to suggest using Filezilla around here.

Thanks guys. FileZilla installed and worked a treat. The whole process took me less than a minute.

Can I just say how good the tech-support on this forum is. I am completely new to running a website and was a bit worried about the complexity. But thanks to this forum and you guys its been simplicity itself.
