I created a fairly simple database for a class project and want to publish it on my website so that more than one person can access it from there... I don't know if that makes sense, but that's what I want to do. I'm proficient with MS Access and I've created simple websites before, but I've never put the two concepts together. The website I created is the special "web" type. The tables and forms are all "web" items in Access 2010. I went to the publish it, type the domain name and site name and get error that Access Services cannot be contacted. I searched the forum and knowledge base, but didn't find any step by step instructions... Would someone be able to get me going in the right direction relatively soon? Thanks!
I'm not sure what the "web" items are in Access 2010, so I can't comment there. But usually what you do is the develop the back end of your application (e.g. tables, queries, etc.) and then upload the database file to your site account. You develop the front end of your web application using a language like PHP, ASP, or ASP.NET, and we have a number of sample code in our Knowledge Base to help you: http://support.Winhost.com/KB/a913/how-to-connect-to-access-2007-with-php.aspx http://support.Winhost.com/KB/a685/how-to-query-an-ms-access-database-with-php.aspx http://support.Winhost.com/KB/a686/how-to-query-an-access-2007-database-with-asp-using.aspx http://support.Winhost.com/KB/a641/how-to-query-an-access-database-with-asp-using-dsn.aspx http://support.Winhost.com/KB/a643/how-to-query-an-ms-access-2007-database-with-oledb-in-aspnet.aspx
