Stats integration?

Discussion in 'General troubleshooting' started by soulie, Feb 5, 2010.

  1. I have stats turned on and I do like what I have seen from smarter stats. I would like to use their stats inside my website (particularly top downloads).

Is there a way for me to do this?

This would save me from making a crappy download counter.

I'm not quite sure on what you mean by...
... Are you referring to implementing the graphical data that SmarterStats displays onto your web pages?

  3. I don't need the graphics, only the raw data.

For example, the data I can view in SmarterStats:

Rank - Download - Hits - Visits - Bandwidth (KB)
    1 - /download/1.zip - 75 - 75 - 53,098
    2 - /download/2.zip - 24 - 24 - 10,828
    3 - /download/3.zip - 4 - 4 - 1,806
    4 - /download/4.zip - 2 - 2 - 1,032

SmarterStats uses the http logs for your account. You can also get a copy of the http logs by enabling Raw Logs inside your control panel under the Site Info Manager/Raw Logs Manager.

Once that is enable, you will need to wait about 24 hours for our system to zip the logs and upload it to your root.

You can download the raw logs using FTP. Log into your FTP account and navigate to the folders httplogs. You will see zip files in that folder. Those are your raw logs. Be aware that the httplogs folder is hidden, so you sill need to manually and speically call it by changing directory to httplogs.

  5. You cannot make an external call for any data from SmarterStats.

Your only option is to manually export a report and parse the tab or CSV file into text for your site.

  6. Thanks for the in-depth reponse guys. After careful consideration I think I will just create my own download manager and track hits that way.

    Cheers.
