I restored a database from SQL Server 2005 Express. Connection looks OK. However, a table has a password field that is encrypted (symmetric, master key and certificate). Here is the error message when I try to access the encrypted field: "Please create a master key in the database or open the master key in the session before performing this operation.". Any anyone help?
Have you tried transferring the master key? Backup: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms174387(SQL.90).aspx Restore: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms186336(SQL.90).aspx Haven't had a chance to try it out myself, but it seems like it'd work on your situation.
