permission setting

Discussion in 'General troubleshooting' started by albertleetat, Jan 2, 2010.

  1. I would like to build up a "Public" folder, that everyone can access and
download the file in that folder. How can I achieve this in Winhost FTP?
    Thanks All

  3. Yes, actually I would like others can directly access the folder and no password is required. For example, they can simply type "http://albertleetat.com/image/1F.GIF"
    to view the "1F.GIF" image.

But if we do this by setting up a FTP user, a password would be required

You can always upload the files you want people to download in a subfolder and turn off directory browsing. This way they can navigate to the folder and they should see a list of files they can click and download to there computer.
