I am new to Winhost and see that there seems to be difficulty with DotNetNuke installations. My problem however, seems to be that the app does not have sufficient access privileges (read, write, create) to the installation subfolder. I get the "Your site failed the permissions check." warning. Can I set access rights anywhere? Any help appreciated
We've seen this before and the error is very misleading. The root cause is the trust level setup on your account. By default it is set to Medium. Increase it to Full. http://support.Winhost.com/KB/a657/changing-the-default-aspnet-trust-level.aspx
I've done two installations of DotNetNuke here at Winhost (several months apart) and both times I had the same issue. Wouldn't it be a good idea to add the "Trust Level" fix to this page in the knowledgebase? How to install DotNetNuke 5.x on Winhost servers http://support.Winhost.com/KB/a654/...-5x-on-Winhost-servers.aspx?KBSearchID=201756 Just a thought.
Well, sometimes its an issue and sometimes its not. When I tested it I didn't have any trust level issue. Some people do. I can certainly make a note or warning on the KB article that the trust level may need to be set to High or Full.
