Resolved and currently monitoring Networking issues

  1. I have a dedicated IP and an SSL so why is my site down?

  2. Word to the wise. Investigate your hosting provider. I use both. DiscountASP's staff is certainly quicker to respond.

So Discount ASP has same issue?

The issue is affecting certain IP blocks. So if your IP is in that block, it'll be affected.

Our upstream provider has replied back to us. They stated that the issue has been resolved. However, we're still monitoring the situation.

As of right now they report the problem has been resolved.

Today a few blocks of IPs were inaccessible and customers experienced short outages intermittently throughout the incident. The network issue started around 8am and was resolved around 1:30pm Pacific time.

There was no issue with the Winhost hosting infrastructure. The issue was caused by bad fiber and router hardware failure at our upstream provider. It took their engineers time to replace the bad fiber and reconfigure their router. Each time they made updates to the router configuration,, they had to re-announce their location and it took a few minutes for the traffic to sync. This is what caused the short outages.
