From reading some of the posts here, I understand that using the Control Panel App Installer for installing Wordpress can result in less installation issues as opposed to a manual installation. But the App Installer only has an option for WP 3.6.1 and I'd like to install 3.7.1. What would be the recommended way to install 3.7.1? Install manually from scratch or use the App Installer to install 3.6.1 and then manually upgrade to 3.7.1? Thanks, yitz.
Yes, you can do that for now. It should be updated in the coming weeks. An updated release is being delayed due to other Content Management Systems releases and testing. You could also download the .zip file from WordPress and upload the contents. Some CMSes require some slight modifications to run in our hosting environment, but WordPress is not one of them. The only thing you might want to add is a web.config file to configure the Default Document that loads.
Also - if you install any outdated version, WordPress will prompt you to upgrade (which is done via a couple clicks from inside the WordPress control panel) shortly after you finish setup.
