Installing DoNetNuke problems

  1. I am having troubling installing DotNetNuke. I have created a database and then installed DotNetNuke 7.0 and when I go to view the site the install wizard appears. I fill in all the required info about the database and click on continue and i get the error message
    ERROR:Index #: 0
    Source: .Net SqlClient Data Provider
    Class: 20
    Number: 53
    Message:

    Wha now?

  2. Can you post a screen shot of the full error message or provide us with a URL where we can see it?
You can send me the URL in a private message if that makes you feel more comfortable.

  3. Here is a screen shot. Thanks for helping.

  4. OK so i found out that I needed a max account to run DNN. Added a Max account but still no luck in connecting to DNN. Always a database connection error. So I decided to install Joomla create a mysql database. I have done this on my Mac servers at home so familiar with the basic install. Again no problems installing Joomla, no problems creating a mysql database and then comes the final step. Again a get a database connection error. I have attached a screen shot. I worry that i am suppose to be connecting as a local host ( normally that is when I am on my own machine where mysql is installed). any thoughts

In both screen shots, you're not entering the correct connection settings.

Here are instructions on how to find the MS SQL connection settings to your database:

    1) Log into the Winhost Control Panel at https://cp.Winhost.com
    2) Click on the Sites tab.
    3) Click on the Manage link next to the site you want to manage.
    4) Click on the MS SQL Manager button.
    5) Click on the Manage link next to the database you want to manage.

    4) Click on the MySQL button.
    5) Click on the Manage link next to the database you want to manage.

In the first screen shot, your connection settings should be:

    Database Name: DB_63904_iscst
    Database User: DB_63904_iscst_user
Server Name: You need to look it up in the Control Panel, but it should follow the format s#.Winhost.com

Similar thing for the second screen shot.
