I've tried to update my preferred domain in Google webmaster tools to be http://www.mydomain.com.au and not http://mydomain.com.au

    but it says
'Part of the process of setting a preferred domain is to verify that you own http://mydomain.com.au. Please verify http://mydomain.com.au'

can anyone steer me on the right course here. HAve I setup up my site wrong or..?

I have registered the site in IIS as 'mydomain.com.au' does this matter?

I reid to enter another one in IIS as www.mydomain.com.au but it would not let me 'Unauthorized'

    thanks

  2. You have to use Google's verification process. That usually involves uploading a small file to your site or making a DNS change so Google knows you have the authority to tell them what to do with the domain.

    Try this.

  4. Well, I suppose if it was easy it wouldn't be any fun. ;)

Maybe that should be Google's new motto...just saying.
