I'm currently reviewing threads and evaluating Winhost as a potential host for my DNN Application.

Currently, almost all requirements seem to be in order. However I do have a couple of questions.

    1. When using IIS 7, do you support wildcard mappings? I prefer to run with extensionless URL's.
    2. Do you support mp4 as a custom mime type?
    3. The ability to launch external processes if approved by your staff? I have codecs that are needed for video rendering.
    4. Do you offer VPN, VPS, Dedictated? And if not, do you have future plans to do so?

    Lastly,

I've been reviewing several threads related to DNN Errors:
    http://forum.Winhost.com/showthread.php?t=3715&highlight=dotnetnuke
    http://forum.Winhost.com/showthread.php?t=3032&highlight=dotnetnuke
    http://forum.Winhost.com/showthread.php?t=3715&highlight=dotnetnuke

They all seem to be related to the same issues with "NT AUTHORITY\NETWORK SERVICE". This could be related to using "integrated pipeline" mode versus "classic" in their control panel. "NETWORK SERVICE" will rely on "classic" mode. I'm sure your staff is aware of this, but if someone is changing their settings in the cp, this could have an effect.

Yes. You can set this in IIS 7 Manager. But remember, IIS 7 by default runs off Integrated Pipeline mode where all calls is processed through ASP.Net so you really do not need to setup wildcard mapping. But you are able to do so if you want.

    2. Do you support mp4 as a custom mime type?

Yes. You simply use IIS 7 Manager to define/create the MIME type.

    3. The ability to launch external processes if approved by your staff? I have codecs that are needed for video rendering.

Sounds like you need to install the codec directly on the server. For security and stability reasons we cannot allow this.

    4. Do you offer VPN, VPS, Dedictated? And if not, do you have future plans to do so?

No. We only offer shared hosting.
