Hi, When someone sends me an email, it takes about 20 minutes until it is put in my inbox. Is this normal? Regards, Roger
I received an email within literally 1 minute.. sent at 7:56 received at 7:57. My guess is that it's a result of who's sending the email to you, and not on Winhost's end.
This is really an open ended question because the latency can come from anywhere. It could be the sending party, it could be the receiving party, and it can also be the email clients (i.e. Outlook) connecting to the mail server. The best way to troubleshoot this is to look at the email headers of the emails arriving late. That tells the true story on what is going on with the email. The email header is a communication log between the sending party and the receiving party. If you're not sure how to read the email header post it on this forum and I help you go through it.
This could most likely be a greylisting issue. see http://support.Winhost.com/KB/a550/what-is-greylisting.aspx
