Our domain is currently registered/hosted through Linkline.com. We host a few of our sub-domains, as we run some applications that require it. If we were to switch to Winhost, can we still host our existing sub domains ourselves? How long does it typically take to transfer domains?

It sounds like you are referring to a registrar transfer. A registrar transfer is actually moving the domain name to another controlling registrar, that I'm afraid is something we cannot do. But if you point your domain name to our name servers, you can access the DNS manager which will have you access and control to our zone record and setup the subdomain name to however you please.

  3. Does that mean we can host our sub domain if we use your DNS manager to redirect the name servers/zone records? Am I understanding this correctly?

Yes, if you point your domain name to us you can modify a subdomain name of it to point to another IP address or if you like, we can create a SOA for that subdomain name and point that subdomain name to another DNS server.

If you need a SOA record to be created on a subdomain name, you will need to open a ticket to our support. Make sure you open the ticket in your control panel so that the request can be authenticated.
