Detailed Server Error Messages for ASP Pages

  1. How to I enable more detailed error reporting on ASP pages? I'm trying to get an old ASP based forum up and running and all I get is the generic HTTP 500 Internal Server Error message on the browser, with no information about what the error actually is. I remember there was a way to turn on more detailed error reporting in the old versions of IIS, but I can't figure out how to do it in the new IIS manager.

  2. OK, I figured it out. It's a browser setting and not an IIS setting. In IE, you just go to Tools->Internet Options->Advanced tab and turn off the "Friendly Error Message" option. I think "Friendly" error messages that cause you to beat your head against the wall for hours due to a lack of specific details isn't so FRIENDLY!
