Can't connect to SQL

Discussion in 'Site Programming, Development and Design' started by Nfurman, Jul 27, 2010.

  1. ===================================

    Cannot connect to s03.Winhost.com.

    ===================================

    A connection was successfully established with the server, but then an error occurred during the pre-login handshake. (provider: TCP Provider, error: 0 - The specified network name is no longer available.) (.Net SqlClient Data Provider)

    Why? Yesterday it was working fine.

    Are you seeing this error on your computer. If you are run a traceroute and telnet test to the SQL server.
    tracert s03.Winhost.com
    and...
    telnet s03.Winhost.com 1433

    If you see the error again perform the tests I typed out. It does sound like a network disruption occurred between you and our server. The tests will help pin point where the disruption is occurring.
