access migration to SQL using SSMAS

  1. I am trying to migrate my access mdb data base to SQL using microsoft SSMA (SQL server migration assistant) when I load my mdb in ssma to migrate it it shows the tree structure with the queries and the tables, but none of the data base tables show up under the tree tab, it is like there is nothing in my data base. When i press ok to migrate it does connect to the SQL server but returns that there is no data base loaded.

Why don't the tables show up under the tree. my data base exists and works fine in mdb.

Depending on the MS Access version you are referring to, there should be an upsize Wizard in Access that will help you move your data from Access to SQL. Go to the help file on your Access program. Type upsize in the search text field. You should see a titled article reading..

Move Access data to a SQL Server database by using the Upsizing Wizard
