Domain transfer followed by SSL transfer

  1. I'm in the process of moving a site from another host over onto Winhost. I've reassigned the servers on the domain name over 24 hours ago and that all seems to be working. Email transferred over just fine too. Today I'm moving the SSL cert and the process didn't generate any errors, but when I use "https" on my site I just get an "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage" error. Is there a delay when transferring an SSL cert the way there is when moving the domain server references?

The SSL cert is from go-daddy and I have another site on Winhost using a go-daddy SSL with no problems. I generated a new CSR from the Winhost SSL control panel and then used that to re-key the SSL cert on the go-daddy site, downloaded the new cert and then pasted the code into the Winhost SSL generator form along with the CSR that was generated. It submittd with no errors. Shouldn't I then be able to just type the domain name with https and not get an error?

What is the domain name you are having problem with pulling up in https?

  3. It was www.showsim.com, but now it's working so I guess there is in fact a delay between when the SSL is switched over and when it actually starts working. About an hour or so in my case.

Sounds like some kind of DNS caching.

  5. How to move SSL cert from godaddy to winhost. I have generated a new CSR from the Winhost SSL control panel and used it to re-key the SSL cert on the go-daddy site, downloaded the new certificate, but how to paste the certificate into the Winhost SSL generator ?
What is the next step to configure security certificate from godaddy to winhost ?

You login into the control panel.

    Click on Sites tab.

    Click on the Site account.

    Click on SSL Manager.

In the empty box you enter the SSL Certificate code summit it.

If that doesn't work contact support department. We'll install it for you.
