I just setup my DNN installation... a couple suggestions. - For this forum, maybe a seperate area specifically for DNN. As word spreads that Winhost has a high quality hosting solution, that is DNN compatible, for $5 a month (with database)... I see over the next 12 months a large influx of DNN sites moving over. I know I plan to move at least two more over in the next 6 months, as contracts expire. - A DNN Setup Button in the Control Panel, that would setup the Community edition. Here is what I mean, a simple setup flow that will do the core basic setup: - Ask for a database name - Ask for a database user name - Ask for a sub-folder name for the DNN install After you have all the data, automate the web.config modifications, and then on the server side, a simple file copy from a staging area to the noted sub-folder. After a success, redirect the user to their DNN Wizard page.
As more members post or enquire about DNN installations then we'll probably create its own section for it. But as of right now we only have a hand full of posting pertaining about it. I'm not sure about having some kind of DNN installation button in the control panel. There are other starterkits product out there other then DNN. But I'll let our product development team know of your request.
