He's referring to Access Services, a feature in Sharepoint Enterprise Edition that allows one to publish a web database (via Access 2010) straight to the server, so that it can be accessed by any standards compliant browser.

No, I'm afraid not. This feature is really not suited for a shared hosting environment.

 

well ... i haven't heard of any hosting company which provides this feature but SharePoint Server 2010 has this feature. Access Services is a service in SharePoint Server 2010 that allows administrators to view, edit, and configure a Microsoft access application within a Web Browser.

 

Sharepoint itself is not suited for shared hosting. This is because it requires special permissions that is not conducive to the security requirements on a shared hosting environment.
